Apple’s iChat bubbles came from somewhere, as this article describes. We take much of our designed environment for granted, in the same way we tend to disregard judicious editing in film, or finely flowing typography in the novel we are reading. Whether craft or design, it is great to be reminded of the efforts made by the creators of these visible invisibilities.
